Here is a quick break down of what went into creating my Adobe Edge test / experimental animation. You can watch the finished animation here.
1) The animation was inspired by the font Vhia from FONTS of CHAOS.
2) I broke up the type into individual pieces using the photoshop polygon lasso tool, then saved each piece of the letters as separate pngs.
3) Next I imported a template (jpeg), of the EDGE type, as reference for aligning all the pieces into their final position.
4) I then imported a diagonal line (png) saved from photoshop to use as a guide. This ensured all pieces of type slid onto screen along the correct angles created by the font.
5) I animated the sliding of each piece on the timeline, offset them in time and used easeOutElastic for easing which created the bouncing into position effect.
